Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy:

'Remembering Your Health'

Craniosacral Therapy focuses on supporting the health of your system. It does this by accessing your original health matrix via the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). The CSF is filtered from blood in the ventricles of the brain and flows around the brain and down/up the spinal column creating an inner tide.

When we face overwhelming experiences throughout our life, our system protects us by storing pockets of 'undigested life experience' as areas of 'stillness' throughout our body. They are held in the cell memory. As we collect these areas of 'stillness'', we begin to notice a lessening of overall life force, and problems start to manifest in our physiology.

Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy is a unique, gentle, non-invasive way of accessing, digesting and integrating these areas of 'stillness' and retrieving the health of your system. During a session my hands will be placed lightly on your feet, sacrum, or head as I sense the subtle inner tides of your CSF. Most people find sessions extremely relaxing as their body releases stored experiences and old patterns, rediscovering its health.

"Restoring your spirit is a sacred beautiful process"

Training: Jennifer's first taste of craniosacral training was in her Polarity training in 1986. It was there that she first sensed the depth of the healing potential within these very gentle techniques. In 1998 Jennifer graduated from a 700 hour Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy course. The training is developed by Franklin Sills and requires a three year committment. She has also gone on to complete Advanced Shock and Trauma and Pediatric Craniosacral courses. Jennifer is also a Reiki Master and certified in Shiatsu Therapy. Jennifer has had a successful practice in Burlington for the past 16 years. She is also a founding member of the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America.     •       Bodyworkers especially craniosacral therapists,
    •       Nurses, and Parents
    •       Couples who are pregnant or who want to conceive.
This one day seminar will address the roots of health as patterns that begin in utero, birth and the postnatal period.  Many practitioners and parents are aware of some of the positive patterns that can come from having good prenatal care, bonding and attachment during this early period.  There can be difficult patterns associated with this time, however, especially those that arise from experiences such as a highly stressful pregnancy or birth, prematurity, or separations after birth.

Researchers and practitioners in medicine, cellular biology, neuroscience, somatic therapies, child development, psychotherapy and others are now forming an interdisciplinary approach to work with early imprints from these patterns.  Come learn about this early model of health and what is possible to help people with early difficulties to live fully.  New research about the science of epigenetic (how the environment influences our genome) and prenatal attachment will be delineated.

About the Presenter: Myrna Martin has 35 years experience working with people therapeutically as a nurse, public health nurse, family therapist, Integrative Body/Mind Therapist (IBP) and a craniosacral therapist.
